Grapevine-Relocation-map_storyIt takes a village not only to raise a child, but to move a business.  The most recent relocation involves moving the Grapevine, TX infusion center 3.6 miles to Southlake, TX.   The village of staff most involved in the move include Director of Corporate Operations Lisa Yoakum, President of Multispecialty Physician Partners (MPP) Ellen Davis, MPP Regional Director of Infusion Operations Ken Idicula, Infusion Clinic Coordinator Liz Stotler, Facilities and Construction Manager Brent Hockins, and Director of IT Tina Coleman.  With them leading their teams, they have transported staff, equipment and associated compliance and regulatory agreements to move the MPP Infusion Center to its new location.

The move allows the center to expand and purchase new equipment for the patients.  The facility is expanding from four chairs to eight and will have three staff members to assist patients, a nurse, advanced practitioner and a new, full-time medical assistant/financial coordinator role.  The new infusion pumps will be similar to the ones currently in use at the Infusion Center of Denver and MPP Dallas.

Grapevine_03_story“They are getting new smart infusion pumps, so now instead of infusing via gravity, they will have small ambulatory pumps at each station.  Also, you can program for all of the drugs we infuse with regards to the timing and flow rate,” said Yoakum.

The new location will be moving into a former medical business’ location.  They will be able to keep many of the finishes and design elements, with input from Davis.  They will be annexing an adjacent suite to make room for the additional chairs.

The IT team also swept in a week prior and set-up computers, cabling, and coordinated with vendors, communication suppliers, and contractors to make sure everybody was on the same page and completed their necessary tasks on time.

Southlake_story“Even though there are different regulations, we still hold infusion clinics to the same standards as renal facilities as far as keeping them clean and infection control procedures when setting up the new location,” said Yoakum.

The new Southlake location opened for business on February 25 at 601 Zena Rucker Road, Suite 101, Southlake, TX 76092.  An open house is scheduled for April.
